Alright so last august I had a running ski untill I took it to pismo and a wave flipped it over and took it 15 yds away from me. Long story short the jet ski is dead and a few days later I find that its electrical box was halfway full of salt water. Fast forward to this past week...I finally replaced the msd enhancer with a stock cdi and that got it running again. My new problem was that it was taking more and more pushes of the start button to get it to turn over. I took it out to the lake yesterday and took her for a spin. I brought her to shore and kill it to check if everythings good in the bilge and when i try to start it up again, nothing. Now I can't get it to do anything at all when i push the button. I also tried using my friends start/stop assembly and that didn't do anything. Is my problem the starter relay? I can jump the relay to turn it over.

Corroded wire connectors in ebox or broken or cracked wires for switch?
Corroded plug for switch?
Does the ebox click or anything when you press start?
If the switch wires, plugs and connectors are good, sounds like it may be the relay.

Since it's been sitting with salt water in it since August, any or all of your electrical connections could be corroded or the starter could be corroded, or the bearings could be shot. Can you turn it over by hand with the plugs out? Has it seized?

Thanks for the replies. I was actually able to get it running after I had flipped it last august but it slowly stopped working then too. It did the same thing as it just did as in taking more and more pushes to start and then finally it quit. The engine and starter aren't seized because i can jump the gap and the engine turns fine. As for corrosion, it doesnt look like there is any in the box since i cleaned it out. Can I test the starter switch to see if its working by voltage testing the brown wire coming off of it and then grounding the other wire? Can relays not work if the battery and starter wires are switched? I have 2 other relays that i tried in there and couldn't get it working.

some starter relays take power off of the battery pole side (On selinoid) to operate the selinoid itself, the power goes from the + side, to the start button, and back down to the small wires on the switch .....so Yes It can matter if the starter is hooked to that pole instead of power. Not sure about a superjet thou, but I know some yamaha couches do.

pull the connections from the batt to starter and clean the wires, the ski wont start if its getting a weak voltage.

I think the connections may be O.K.< As he stated he shorted the selinoid switch and it turned over. I dont think he is getting voltage to the selinoid switch (The small wires)

Bad relay(s) or starter switch assembly.

Bad relay(s) or starter switch assembly.

That Is correct. Next step is to determine which one:Banane01: Put a meter on the + side of the small current wires (on the Solenoid) and see if you get 12v there when pushing the button. If you do it's the relay, If you don't It's the starter switch assy.

Thanks for the advice. I'm testing the small wire from the starter button that goes to the solenoid, right? Not the large ones from the battery and to the starter. The brown is from the starter and the other small wire off of the solenoid is a black one for the ground.
