SN waterbox went BOOM !

Too much fuel collected in my square noses exhaust and the waterbox done blowed up.:skull2:

So what are my options ?
Will a round nose waterbox fit right in ?
What's the going rate for stock waterboxes ?

I wouldn't mind a waterbox that is a little louder but to be honest I don't think I have ever heard a TDR. Maybe the locals could grow to like the extra noise.

You running front and rear exhaust or just rear? Its really not that loud. Or atleast i dont think so. The locals could get over it:biggthumpup:

I'm running just the rear exhaust and don't care much about the locals, I said that just to pretend that I'm PC. :biggthumpup:

The problem is that I'm hoping to be in a round hull soon and I don't know if that box could be transferred.

how bad is the stock box? if its just at a seam or something just glass it back together. no reason to waste money if you don't have to.

IT DONE BLOWED UP !!!!

The thing is toast with the top ripped off and a nice vertical split from top to bottom. Scared the Shait out of me and the local birds moved to the next county when it went BANG.
I bet the back side is messed up as well but since it's still in the ski I can't get a full view.
When I get it out I'll take some pictures.

figured it was worth a shot, seen pics of them before.

i think it was like 65 bucks shipped. only problem was the outlets were a little smaller so i had to slide another piece of pipe over the outlets. you could email him and see if he has any left. they were much lighter than the stocker.

As long as you have a rear exhaust, the TDR box is NOT too loud. If you have front exhaust its a different story. A stock waterbox with a front exhaust is louder than a TDR with a rear exhaust. I have heard the difference. The TDR sounds much better than stock, its pretty throaty. I had a square and you wont be able to mount a roundnose box in the hull because where the handlepole bracket is is lower than a roundnose so the outlet on the box will hit there. You can mount a roundnose TDR box in square hull though because the box is phhysically small.

i hate the sound of tdr.lots of crackle and pop.always sounds a little sick to me i actually love the way a sn box sounds through front exaust.i would avoid the tdr.its especially loud out of the water when flushing ect.

I don't have a front exhaust and don't plan on installing one but obnoxious loud is obnoxious loud.

At this point I know I need a waterbox that is in one piece and my local sources are fast drying out.


On a positive note, my hearing is coming back just hours after the box went BLAMO ! :biggthumpup:

One good thing about the TDR box is that it fits into both hulls. :biggthumpup: I like mine. :dunno:
