but wasnt actually sure what was going on. I'd like to get the following in formatted style so I can carry it over to a "how to" I'm making as offical facts and not me just assuming.

Tapp at the following location...correct?

I'm assuming start with a pilot holeand get bigger?
What size drill bit and tap?
Where can I get the brass 90s? Lowes, Home Depot?

Go to your local Ace hardware store and get a 1/8 - 27 NPT tap and a 21/64 drill bit. It is a tapered tap so be careful when you run it as it will get tight as it gets about 3/4 way in. I usually do not run it all the way down, but just enough to easily start the fitting. Run it down between 1/2 & 3/4 the way and check to see if the fitting will start and thread in. Good luck.
 
I didn't read it anywhere but Flash-FX posted that he pullled his freeze plug out and put a threaded insert in the end. But did anyone notice that the freeze plug isn't the same size as the hole on the inside of the pump. The hole is taper drilled.

The hole on the inside of the pump is only 1/4 inch instead of close to 3/8 like the rest of the water jackets and fittings. I knocked my freese plug out and drilled a 3/8 hole all the way through. I didn't want one water line running more water.
