I just stuck my bilge in with it. it always seems to take about 10 days for it to totally cure. I don't see how 5200 could cure with no air. if that was the case would it not cure in the tube? I have a tube that has been open for about a year and its not cured at all.

And I have tubes that have cured after a few months.
You can apply 5200 underwater and it will cure. (granted, it has oxygen - but no air).

5200 is some nasty stuff. on friday i used it in the tray sealing up some stuff, used gloves at first and it just stretched the gloves and was useless of getting it to go where i wanted it to. so i went bare finger and pretty much got it all over my hands. i used acetone to clean my hands up but i still have stuff on my hands and on my fingernails from it.

I thought exposure to paint thinner could cause birth defects?

Everythings toxic these days, dont you know?

yea, but its the level of toxicity you need to worry about, and relatively paint thinner is much much better then acetone, especially since paint thinner's absorption through the skin is almost non-existant, whereas acetone is readily absorbed and repeated exposure causes dermatitis. Look at alcohol. Its a toxin technically, but that dont stop people from drinking it, and it takes quite a bit to cause anything serious, and I'm pretty sure you cant get drunk by washing your hands with jack daniels. It's all about the LD50 and what it attacks/methods of absorption.
