Help me build a Phantom

Sorry for the hiatus, been slowly tinkering with this. Update to date: the protec pipe barely didn’t fit. Maybe needed an inch further back. Could have made it work with some fab or a dent, but decided against it.IMG_3956.png

Since this hulls a keeper, I said screw it and got an RRP laydown.IMG_4054.jpeg
I am making up some foam blocks and got a hump hose coming early next week to mitigate the water flow back issues with the box. Tackling pump alignment tonight. Will post if I remember.

Take a pass on that RRP water box, get Powerfactor or see if Maniac is making one. Those RRP boxes really are that bad.

Some stainless pump coupling from ace. For anyone interested or to help anyone using an Oem 155 I used M8x30 with flat washers and nylon lock nuts.

Drilled and tapped for a 1/4 NPT fitting for dual cooling. Thread taped and marine jb welded.

Unfortunately my trim and nozzle won’t be in until tomorrow so alignment will have to wait. The pump seal is an absolute bitch though, so I’m going to have some buddies help me at least get it bolted up in the front.

I am pulling the trigger on one for piece of mind, haven’t seen any without some lead time. I’m off all next week for the 4th, really wanted to ride it. Once I got the pump on and everything sealed I live pretty close to a ramp. I planned on float testing it and sloshing it around some without my engine in it to see if anything comes out of the box.

One of the benefits of a two piece pump is being able to leave the wear ring in the ski to preserve pump alignment, especially when tuning prop. I'd get the inserts and bolts from @JetManiac and thread the wear ring. This way when you upgrade to a push or skat 155 someday you won't have to do any aligning too

Yep I’ll end up staying 155. And I plan on doing that. I always leave wear ring in on my other skis just know nothing about aftermarket so learning as I go

I have to ask...why are you doing multiple bolts for the pump? It should just take one long pump bolt at each spot, so 4...not 12?

He's probably using an oem 155 wear ring from a couch that is designed for the long bolts to go through and thread into the pump shoe, so it doesn't have threads for the long bolts, and also doesn't have the correct long bolts because the couch bolts are longer so they can pass through.

I've done the same thing in that situation.

I even left the top set of bolts between the stator and the wear ring off so I can swap impellers easy, leave the wear ring in place.
