Im trying to find out how thick the baseplate is for the kit and if it ran std thickness base gaskets
Thanks
Thanks
That would be Awesome if you could measure the thickness of the base plate Did you ride it stock stroke then 5mill? If so where was the biggest improvement? Low,mid, highi have one. i can measure the spacer plate. and yes mine just uses standard base gaskets top and bottom of the spacer plate. ive been happy with the motor. makes great power for what it is.
If I have to I would get a degree timing wheel and time it and get some domes cut. I have the HPE 819 sitting while running a PHP 898. Sold that awhile back and recently picked up a “967 and curious how it would run with the 5 milIf you can’t get an answer, you might want to just mock it up and start measuring the port timing. You’ll probably be shooting for 195-198 exhaust duration maybe a little higher (guessing - I’ve never measured an ET). Another method is if you have the correct domes for the setup and know target squish, you can pretty easily figure out how much total spacer with gasket thickness you need. What are you starting with? A top end kit and a crank or a blown up motor or what?
It is HPE’s +5mill stroke 133 mm rodsYou don’t need a degree wheel you just need to know the piston stick out and exhaust port height. From there you can calculate the exhaust duration. You know the stroke and rod length
