Just picked up an fx-1

This is gonna be an addition to my fleet. I picked up a 94 fx1 with some mods. If anyone knows the history of this ski please let me know. I purchased it in San diego, CA area. Far as I know the guy I bought it from was the 2nd owner.he bought it in 2004. The owner before him is the one who modded it. It has quite a few things done to it. I've only rode it for a quick test ride so far. I'm in sacramento CA.

Your ski looks fantastic. Kerker Performance was apparently one of the high performance jet ski exhaust shops/manufacturers back in the day when my wife (and others) were racing. Ebox is unusual. What engine is that? Can't wait for your ride report!

Thank you @E350. Can't wait hit the river with this thing. It's got a few things that I haven't seen. It has a bpipe, but the head pipe is different then any I've seen. No water screws.no markings. Also not sure what's up with ebox. Havent seen one of these before didnt know west coast made electronics

Mods that I see so far are
Billet pole bracket
Scoop grate
Pro tec ride plate
Umi bearing steering setup
Cool head(not sure comp yet)
Has a blade in the pump not sure on pitch
Has a 62t/61x motor in it unsure of porting
K&n flame arrestor
R&d intake manifold
Dual 44 carbs that appear to have been worked over
Bpipe
Jet trim mats
Bilge pump
Not fully sure on electronic setup yet

Need to get a few things like hood seal and a billet throttle lever. Going to replace the fuel and water lines as well. Looking for a nice waterbox for it too it has stock in it now.

@blasterdude I did notice it is hooked to an inline fuse and to Bilge switch seems overkill I've always just ran em straight off the battery with inline fuse. Anyone seen a head pipe like this one before? Wonder if it's a early factory pipe or different brand? Didn't see any markings

I think the "marking" is on the side of the ski. It is likely a Kerker which was later bought by SuperTrapp which was thereafter bought by some other company.

Search for "Kerker exhaust jet ski"

@E350 i could see it being a kerker. Though every kerker head pipe I have seen says kerker on the side of it. I'm gna change it out for an adjustable factory head pipe I gt one laying around.trying to get her on the water tomorrow

After taking a closer look at the motor it appears to be a 61 x motor. Looks like they threw a dual carb r&d intake and dual 44s on her. Is this supposed to be more beneficial then the single carb on this?

20220801_235754.jpg gt my steering setup done for now.blowsion pad/bars. Odi grips and a pjs throttle. Umi bearing setup and quick turn plate.Next ill be putting a factory head pipe on it so the pipes not mis matched.and new cooling /fuel lines. Need to replace tank vent too Mines split in half. Gna swap head out for an ADA girdled one I gt laying around.

Twin carbs will wake up the pipe a little. The FX1 pump isn't big enough to load the engine so dual inlets won't do as much for it. A single carb is generally a lot easier to tune but one cylinder will always be hotter than the other. Duals are better IF you can tune them.

Took her out to folsom lake yesterday. Was riding for a few minutes. Then first fall, hood flies off. Soon as I came up ski was already underwater.
Just the nose sticking up barely. These suckers sink FAST.. WOW!! luckily my brother in law and daughter were on my sit down and came to help. Had one hand hanging on the fx1 other on sitdown. damn near drowned trying to keep it from sinking. Boat showed up and was able to rope her up and get the hood back on.gt towed I'm home. Very bad experience. Was closest I've ever came to losing a ski and drowning. Glad I didn't lose her

Holy crap! I am glad you are ok. If you don’t have one already get the Cold Fusion front hood latch from Jet Maniac asap!
