Opinions Needed on what Prop for my setup TIA

Hi Guys,

I tried to search a bit through the forums but couldn’t get the answers I was looking for.

I’m building an FP1 (aftermarket hull based on 08+ SJ with a rocketed nose) and I’m scratching my head with what pump setup to use with my lightly modified setup.

Motor details are:
- 701cc 61x/62t engine w/ 38mm Carbs & stock pipe
- MSD enhancer
- VF2 reeds
- Jetinetic Lightened Flywheel

I really would like to run a Solas Mag pump 144mm as I have 1 ready to go (and I also have a stock pump available too).
But my question is what will be my best prop to use (in the mag pump) ??
An OEM 08+
Or
Skat Trak Swirl 12/17
Or
Something else

FYI my riding style is purely surf riding (minimal slashing) with occasional WOT to get out to other sets mostly in low to medium range speeds

With the stock pipe, hooker 9/15. Put a pipe and head, porting etc, hooker 10/16. Then bore your outlet nozzle to fine tune it.

Either the 12/17 or 9/15 Hooker will work. I have ran both. If you had the skat already I would not swap.

Not familiar with the FP1, if it's lighter than the SJ go taller. My carbon Rickter FS1 ,b pipe 61x, OEM pump, 280 #'s has a hooker 9/15 and it is waaaay underpropped.

Getting the pump load just right is more critical when a good pipe is installed. Stock exhausts have little tuning so power goes flat as rpm peaks. I can say boring the nozzle will always make the ski pull harder. Any of the props mentioned above will work well without modification.

It's similar to a SJ. Not a whole bunch lighter...
