I had a bad vibration on my Yamasaki.. first thing i did was cut the battery box out on the carb side front corner where one of the bed plate bolts hits it. Helped, but still there. I dented my 650sx pipe with a mallet to clear where it was touching the motor….still there. It’s a lot better but i notice it. It’s just offf idle then clears up. Next thing I’m going to do is remove the all metal super trap water box and turf under and behind it. Hopefully that’s it! If not I’m going to pull my brand new Jetnetics flywheel off and put the stock on back on.
I REALLY hope its the water box!

If you don’t currently have padding under your water box that could definitely be causing vibration. I slid a chunk of cork and rubber gasket maker under mine and it helped some. I also plan to turf the area so I’ll keep you posted.

Here is how I did mine, its wrapped in turf, wedged with a shaved yoga block, and strapped using a yamaha strap clip and seadoo waterbox strap. Doesn't leave room for a front fuel fill though.

Looks good! Ill do that for sure but i have to wrap my super trapp water box with turf and zip tie it on because i have to be able to service the discs every season.

I highly recommend the wax racing internal fuel fill. Very well made and looks good as well for a fair price.

Don’t pay attention to the pipe on there. I took a piece of 1 inch pvc about the same length as the pipe and capped on end. The other end is capped with threads so its water tight. Keep my reg and copy of my drivers license and boating certificate in it. Why these manufactures didn’t incorporate a dry box on stand up’s is beyond me!

Good idea on the dry box placement, I have been trying to figure out where to put one.

I have been really happy with all my wax stuff, well made and reasonably priced.

Only problem i have with them there in Australia and it takes a little longer for your parts..

I ordered a TDR water box from vintage jet ski in June and still haven’t gotten it! Also ordered a Custom Matt kit a month ago from jet trim. Hoped to have it on before the riding season ends. That’s not happening. Sucks!

My Yamasaki had the same vibration just off idle… chased everything but nothing helped
Finally went to stock SJ motor mounts and machined bed plate to fit and all is great!
FPP mod pipe fits without mods or a blistered hull and pulls hard!
Hope you finished yours up…

Did anyone else try this fix?
Ski is smooth through out the revs

Some guys machine down the bottom of the bed plate to allow the longer(I think) stock SJ mounts. From extensive reading over the winter the poly mounts Rhaas makes are very stiff and exaggerate the vibrations. The sock Yamaha ones are softer and soak up a lot of the vibrations these conversions create. I’m hoping Robin will build some softer material mounts to help us out.

Also, almost every conversation I have read about big motor 550 conversions have some sort of vibration. Especially just off idle. Has to do with the big displacement motors and most using A/M pipes. The big breadbox pipes on the 701’s help soak up the vibrations.

I finally received my TDR baffled water box from WAX racing 7 months later, and my jet trim Matt! Whoo Hoo! Going to pull the skis out soon and start wrenching. I’m hoping the TDR water box wrapped with turf and padding all around will get rid of SOME of the off idle vibration! If not ill just live with it. Only notice it coming in and going out. When out riding I have zero vibrations. Only tears in my eyes and pain in my arms from this ski that just wont stop pulling!

Waters warming up guys! Time to start wrenching!!
