62T top on 61X bottom

Anyone ever run a 701 with a 62T top end on a 61X bottom with 61X electronics? I have them laying around and would like to make a running motor, just not sure if it's a good idea. not looking for any performance gain just want to puzzle together a good running motor.

Plenty have. The T cylinders have higher port timing. You would have less bottom end power but more top end.

I figure that with less bottom and more top but I am more concern with the single 44 carb and a more restrictive intake of the 61X

701 is a 701. It runs fine.

Single 44 on X Cases works just fine.......

The single 44 61X case makes a little less acceleration than twin 44s on a 62T case.. Top rpm is the same as long as the prop is pitched down for best response. Getting the prop pitched correctly is huge by comparison.

I ran a 46 carb on a 61X/62T in a wave raider with coffman pipe and she ripped.
