People voted for getting free stuff from the Govt. which entails printing money which dilutes the value of each dollar which causes price "inflation" which means that people now can't afford houses, cars or jet skis that they could have afforded last year.

In California gasoline is now over $5/gal and heading to $8/gal

I provided value by answering the original poster's question by posting up a link to a SN and to an FX-1.

The FX-1 seller is not a "fool."

Jet ski prices (and house, car and gasoline prices) follow the laws of economics. Yes, economics can be affected by politics (see Venezuela cutting 6 zeros off their currrency due to politics affecting economics). But my response to your price comment was economics.

Ranting about an FX1 being $8k sort of started the topic “look at how crazy expensive stuff is”, so following up with “well you’ve only got the gimme gimme types to thank for that” actually seems invited, imho. *shrug*

Weird, last year when the last of the 2020's showed up, people were coming out selling them in the crate for stupid amount of money since you could not get them. Then on top of that Covid hit and people were buying up all the new PWC's to the point the dealers ran out. So where is the next avenue? The used market. Guess what happened. The sellers realized they were sitting on a gold mine. So the prices of used Watercraft, ATV's, Boats, Dirt bikes went thru the freaking roof. This has zero to do with Value of US Dollar and all about the Simple Laws of Economics. Law of Supply and Demand.
Same as what has happened with gas prices, Last year people were not driving as much, price of gas went down (Excess Supply) now people are back to normal (As normal can be right now) and the Demand is higher (Price went back up some to where it had been).
