Cut the plate flush with the hull and just practice. If you do not have a trim system it is best to do a set up wake going about 1/4 throttle (do a search on set up wakes for more indepth descriptions). I like to do a "pre-jump" before achually doing the trick. Approach the wake kind of slow so the back end starts to sink, then breifly blip the gas (bringing the nose up)......let off the gas. At this point the nose will drop back down. Practice this a few time to get your timing and approach down so when the nose drops it lands about 1 foot in front of set up wake. Now practice jumping the wake. Once you are comfortable hitting the wake and cosistantly hit the wake start just trying to grabb the front or side rails. Allot of 650s have that crappy molding on it.....get rid of that stuff and all the bolts/hardware that attach it. That will cut the living @***^ out of your hands. Have fun.
