Round Nose Comming together

It all started off as an ex race boat that I got the erge to build a freestyle ski out of, so here is the begining and much more to come. First off many thanks to Boris for showing me where to cut the tray out to de foam. Yes de foaming is the worst job there is. 2 shop vacs one Emergency room visit lost of cusing 52 pounds of foam and water was removed. Scuppper was installed after fighting it for 45 minutes it finally went in. Then came the fun part of sealing everything up with 2 tubes of 5200. Then the sides were reinforced with 1708 biaxle including the bottom as well. 1 full sheet was placed down both sides then another sheet was put in the rear for extra support for the good old barrel rolls. Much thanks to my man Big Willie and PJ the shop dog. We then filled the old fill hole with foam and glassed over it. Much more to come the motor is almost done much thanks to Paul and LPW.

No I did not have a car on Pinks but I will build you anyting dirve line you are after just write me a check. Corey come on by and take a look it is finally comming together. Yes I have everyting transmision rear end stuff available. Let me know what you are after. Boris you helped out greatly thanks again, your pictures were key.

That blows me away the way you and Boris have been cutting out the trays like that. Does the green glue seperate from the top of the pump easily?

Seems like that would change everything that sucks about defoaming:biggthumpup:

Yeah it came right off of the glue, just a little persasion with a hammer and a pry bar, and it poped right off. It is the best way in my opinion to get all of the foam out, I didn't think I could remove all of it by just cutting a square in the front and in the sides. Since the foam was so wet I had to get all of it out and that was the only way to get it all out. Go for it you won't regret it.

We got the tray back, and glassed the watercraft factory footholds in tonight and re foamed it as well. Tommorow is reinforceing the inside as well as laying the carbon.

Finally finished the reinforcing last night. I put two layers of 1708 on the sides and then a piece of carbon just mainly for looks. Man is carbon a bit..h to work with it frays like crazy, and all the piece that come off, some how find their way to the parts that look the best screwing it all up. Anyway glad the galssing is over I will be permently itching for the next month. Now it is time to get the motor together and start picing it all back togerher, so I can hit the lake.

For future reference....ALWAYS wear gloves, hat, and full clothing when working with glass. Itching sucks.

Also, the fraying can be prevented by stitching the end of the cloth.

I did have gloves, goggles, mask, and a long sleeve shirt on but when sanding it seems to find it way into ever nook and crany. I tried to prevent it but you just cant prevent evertyhing oh well it was worth it. I rather itch than have to call the dive team in when it cracks and sinks to the bottom.

why did you wrap the glass around the gunwhale like that??? Man, that is gonna take hours to reshape and make look like anything... Not to mention it wasn't sanded....

Yeah, sanding with a power sander gets freaking itchy dust everywhere.
Oh well, at least it only lasts a day or two.

I wrapped it around cause I got hit in both sides something fierce while racing and it was cracked to no end. So I figured to do it right and seal it up and give it some rigity back I was going to wrap it around. Sanding takes no time at all, that is the least of my worries.
