Always say pretty last,functional first and I’m a cheap bastard so start with the easy cheap stuff first.
I’m a big guy and my toes are about four inches from the front of the tray. Chop that pole 41/2 inches.

Straight bars and steering are on the agenda. I went with four because of the plan to go with straight bars. Worst case, I’ll just cut it again.

Buttoned back up tonight. Any recommendations on steering system? I think I am going to pull the cover from the front of the tray. It’s missing attachment bolts. Someone drilled for a primer and it is sun faded. I need to order some Hydro turf. Then a bilge system

Now that was worth the time. My toes at the front of the tray. I can now set the nose for turns. So much better, no cavitation.. Amazing! Looking forward to the next mod. I do need to adjust the steering some positive left

Put almost four gallons through her today! To match fun. Need to get some body work down this week. Get some paint on that stinking hood.

A couple hours out alone last night. Just simple turns. Accelerate 25-50 yards 180 right, accelerate 25-50 yards 180 left. Amazing how something so simple can be so much fun.

First piece to the next modification to the Superjet. 0 degree bars with a little more width and a quick steer set up.
Not a bad piece of matching. Probably need to replace hardware with some stainless steel.

Steering has been just about 10 degrees off since I picked it up. Not the end of the world but today after topping the tank, getting the new ratchet straps cut down for the EZhitch rack. I thought, it will take five minutes. Grab the tools (I have been hitting it with PB) for a couple weeks now, SNAP!!
Thankfully I picked up a spare steering cable off the site a couple weeks ago and one of the locals has a spare connector. It’s only going to be 100 degrees TMR. Good day for a swap.

im a big fan of over pivot steering because not only is it shorter to get your weight more forward, the steering is more responsive with less effort since the bars are directly over the pivot bolt. Enjoy your superjet! i bought a 96 rockered shortened hull a year ago and built it up from there. its been a super fun ski soo far!

Single best upgrade I have gotten so far. EZ Hitch has made getting to the lake effortless. Even swapped it to my buddies truck.
