I was just about to ask this. I only got a quote for the head pipe but I’m going to send the whole thing. Just gotta wait for my new manifold and chamber to show up! They are currently 30 days out for turnaround time for a “custom top coat color” but 15 days for just clear. I’m a sucker for hot colors

Now that we are talking about coatings. Anyone do any of the lubricating or Heat radiating coating to dissipate heat on the pistons?
Am I the only one curious what the rest of the hidden secrets are? Are they really just "hidden" but not so much "secret", so that you'll be ok enumerating them here?

Dont pay more than 300 to coat every single piece of your ski
Dont find a backyard or garage powder coat guy. Find someome who does it professionally on large scale.
I can get your chamber, waterbox, head pipe, head, bed plates, entire pump, pole bracket. And other small miac pieces, for under 200, in candy colors
The prices people pay for jet ski stuff is hilarious. If it doesnt cost 5x more than it should, it must not be quality right?

Correct me if I'm wrong, cuz this isn't something I know very much about: ceramic coating isn't anywhere near as simple as powder coating paint. I believe I can powder coat in my garage with a toaster over (despite that not being the best way to go about it), but I don't know anything about ceramic coating.
Has anyone used swain tech? You dont see them as much in the forums but I've come across them here and there....and their white lightning coating sounds pretty good especially at there estimated price point for 2 stroke systems. Haven't made direct contact yet though (still waiting to get my pipe in hands)
Love how life goes full circle! If you do some searches from my posts from years ago, you will find both Jet-hot ceramic coatings on exhaust components, plus Swain-Tech on pistons, domes, and cyl exhaust passages.
its all the little extra details that lets you tune to a higher degree and get that extra performance from your tune!
fyi, the ceramic coating on exhaust components is to keep the temps in hot gas path longer and hotter to keep the power band where you want it. This works in most all applications, however, full on race applications is what benefits most. This does little to help control under hood temps, once the parts heat soak. The other benefit is the salt water protection it affords. My personal boat has the same manifold and headpipe for the past 15+ years and looks very close to the same as when it was first coated!

Save the $$$.$$. Powder coat is for office furniture. What happened to that finish in the first place? After removing the original coating, either sandblast the headpipe or polish it. Keep it looking clean with a good silicone spray before/after the ride (of course if you ride in the salt, fresh water rinse before the spray). If you ABSOLUTELY have to do your powdercoat thing, be sure to mask off the gasket surfaces and where the bolt heads touch the metal. You will find that powdercoat does not like to become a gasket, and your bolts/nuts will loosen up.

I wouldn’t spend a dime on powder coating either which is why I always steer these conversations to ceramic coatings.
