Quick question

I am having a heck of a time getting this plastic ring off. It seems to be bonded or atleast sealed with something to the hull, I was originally going to use this one on my
Project build but found two cracks on the bottom of it and my ride plate I’m swapping over from another ski won’t thread into it.

That ring on the shoe, "the pump seals sealing surface" is part of the shoe, and the shoe is bonded to the hull..

To remove the shoe, take screws out and use a heat gun and get to 200f to break down the glue. Get under and pry while heating it.. till it comes loose.. will prolly break coming out.. mine did

Thank you, does anyone have a new pump shoe, or know where to get one? @JetManiac @tomski I will try to save the good one that is on my parts ski but just in case...

After doing some more research I hear that impros makes a metal pump shoe to replace the stock plastic one. I might go that route, as I have a worx winged intake grate. Just have to figure out how to get this dang thing off. I’ll try “harder” tomorrow

I used a putty knife and hammer to get behind it and kept it above 200*F
It's a lot of work!

Once off I used the heat gun and putty knife to get the glue off that remained on the hull. Then prep the area with sanding. You can G-flex epoxy or 5200 marine silicone the new one in to seal it...

The after market shoes will need grinding to get them to fit. RRP makes a nice shoe but needs grinding as well...to get the RRP square to pump seal face I had to put a flat washer behind it on each side. Also drill and tap the intake grate holes... Most require grinding and such, RRP was just less of it lol.. Not sure if they make a 144/148 shoe though..
