Help me kill myself with a RAMP

OK I got a buddy that has a few skateboard ramps that he is getting rid of. I know what your thinking already but I think this might work... Anyhow they are like the WFWA ramp but smaller. I want to modify them a bit and float them at the lake. It is made of plastic so I think the material will be ok.This is what they look like

But his are enclosed close to 5 foot tall and have no top on them. He also said that they had steel reinforcements in them that he has rolled over the edge with his car and it didn't do anything to the plastic. I was also told that they have a balast in them for holding sand that will hold it up in the pool so I would only have to worry about the stablility of the ramp in the water.

SO that is the idea has anyone ever tried it and/or what is your out take on this.. basically am I gonna die and what is needed to make this a sucess. I will keep it at the lake so if anyone wants to come try it out they can. And it will be small enough that it might make it's way to a ride or 2 if it works out.

Let the noobs pratice fountians on it. Plus you could spray it with wd-40 or sillicone spray to keep it super slick

too steep too soon

Fine for a skateboard but a 7foot ski wont make it up that thing too pretty, would be violent. Remember the WFWA is made with jetskis in mine and lets 90% of the hull stay on the ramp as it enters and slides.

The nose is gonna hit that and immediatly wanna go up, and by the time your nose makes it to the coping, the tail is gonna come and hit the start. So basically insane fast nose up and then your tail is gonna do some bouncing when it bridges the arc.

Jesse, your right on !

Here is one of about 100 drawing layouts I have worked on !

I would say, about a 20' raduis is minum, for ski length !

Like darin said... I will break out some popcorn and watch !

I dont think it would be that hard to build a linear ramp made with two pieces of PVC that match the hull on an SJ. Someone should build one and have it at Lanier :woot:
