So the ergonomics of my ski are a bit tight. I came from a SuperFreak with had all the room in the world - too much in fact - and now I would like a wider tray on this smaller/lighter ski. Currently my feet angle-in a bit and so a straight fit seems to be possible if I widen the back part of the ski. Here is a picture of ski with shoes in the holds.

I have not begun but I would strip the ski of turf and padding first. Then take an angle grinder/dremel/osolating tool and carve out the left and right area of the foothold to straighten my feet and make it at least 3 inches wider.

I'm fairly decent at glass-work but have not done much carbon-fiber. I presume its about the same - resin, hardener, carbon filler, and carbon sheets. Two to three layers and a couple days of work I hope...

Then I'll need to find someone to help me with a professional turf-job to get the padding, turf, and holds just right.

Thoughts?

I hate when nobody replies, seems like you have a good plan and I hope you have kicked this project's azz! post some pics of the finished project or keep us posted.

I have been lead to believe that carbon is a lot worse on your lungs than glass, so be sure you use proper respiratory protection and be mindful of what you do with your clothing (etc) that has carbon dust on it.
