Super Jet Kill switch small metal piece fell out

I was hoping someone could help me figure out where this small metal piece came out of. Had the kill switch appart for new bars.

On an unrelated note I'm new to the site. Just got this 1990 650 SN. I used to have 2 beautiful matching RN skis that are now in form of a wedding ring. I'm outside Sacramento ca in the foothills. I'm looking for small upgrade parts and performance/ freestyle parts. Thanks in advance

It goes between that little zip tie and the rubber grommet where the harness comes into the switch. The harness goes through the arch of the metal piece.

I like to slip it in from the backside, (that's what she said), of the cable rather than just drop it straight in. This way it doesn't fall right back out again.
