l am in the process of trying to figure out what the best prop and pitch is for my set up.As well as the opening of the the reduction nozzle and cone size.

i'm working on a friends Circus using a stock stroke XS865pv engine with a rrp pipe.Starting with a E75 Skat 6/14 prop and a 89mm exit nozzle.May not be right at all,but a starting point.........

Chime in!

Yeah I'm gonna need that pump back....lol
Let me know what you find. I think my buddy is buying my 865 and he will run an oem 155 to start out.

Im running a fully ported 718 61x/62t with a oem 155 and its amazing. I changed from a 144 to a 155 all the rest of the setup stayed the same, and the gains are truly impressive. my nozzle is at 90mm with super stubby pump cone and a skat swirl big hub 7/15 with 5mm cutback. There are a ton of different prop pitches people are trying. I have seen as low as 5/10 and know guys running 9/15. I think the nozzle bore as always plays a huge roll in the way it works. I have seen the skat nozzles used to allow for larger bores then 90mm because thats max on the 1100 reduction nozzles.

I can't seem to figure out how to combine threads. Harrison is on vacation. I guess he will have to do it when he gets back on his phone.

Was your 144 stock or a mag? If stock, that's very obvious why there is such a difference. On a smaller displacement motor, and a 144 mag I would be surprised if a 155 and that same motor, really was "that" much different??

I ran both the solas 144 mag with a 10/16 hooker and a stock 144 with a 10/18. There is a huge difference in how the 155 processes the water but its better to just ask your engine builder

Prop pitch and nozzle bore. The great unknown

Talked to a long time builder yesterday. He told me my engine was too small for a 155 (oem) pump.Probably shouldn't be running more than a 148 mag.Soooooo just a matter of putting together and seeing what l got.My main idea is not laying down big money for a pump......

Carry on

@Sanoman The first setup i my KDX, was a OEM 155 pump with a Skat trak 7/14 big hub, cutback and thin blade.
Recution nozzle at 90mm, stock pump cone and stock 65U steering nozzle.
engine was a DASA 850 billet power valve, dual FS 49 AVLR, MSD TL digital, PFP dry exhaust and the KDX carbon (48 lbs hull)
I would say 155mm pump ANY day of the week. I dont get why some guys says its to big, take this in consideration:
The 144mm pump was first introduced in a 650cc superjet, single carb.
The least powerfull boat that Yamaha put the 155mm pump in, is a Waveblaster II 760 - i runs the 155mm pump in a big heavy hull.
So beside my own experience with the 155 OEM pump being super nice to a 850cc SS engine, i think the 144 pump arnt capable of providing the prober thrust to todays engine packages. The 148 is better, but IMO 155 is the way to go :)

I feel I am over pitched at 7/15 and it still works better then my heavy hunk of a solas pump. I tell people and they dont believe me until they ride it or ride with me and then they become believers. The people that say it wont work either can't tune to make it work or are afraid of trying it. I have tried multiple pump setups and this has worked the best for a reasonable price. Now the word is out people will be scooping all the 1100 raider pumps up. I got one complete driveshaft to turn nozzle for under 200 bucks. I have no reason to lie nor do I run a jet ski business that profits from 155 pumps

This guy replied to my thread and said he was running an impros 5/10 on a et967. Prop pitch from company to company I hear can vary so their 5/10 may be close to a 7/12 from skat. I only got a 7/15 because thats what jetmaniac had in stock. I am going to repitch the trailing edge to 12 this winter and I think that will be right where I want it. Another big debate is the pump tunnel size. I don't know anyone running a 155 with a stock superjet intake tunnel. I have an X jet and the tunnel is super long to the point you see the last of it just below the mid shaft and bulkhead. other people I know that have put them in superjets make them wider but i thinnk thats critical to get the proper flow to feed the large pump

I have a 6/12 cutback 7mm that I got from jetmaniac new and have used once that may be for sale soon. I will want full price but it will be no wait. It worked perfectly in a circus with a 727 motor.
