That's where the crack started from hitting the arm. The other shi tty nozzle looks like it could be a raider nozzle and it's just older plastic

Good eye, you can actually see in all the pictures where it has been rubbing that arm.

both bolts staying in? I have broke a couple pro tec nozzles due to the bottom bolt taking a swim. Now I have a tube of red lock tite on each bolt and torque seal so I can tell if they move.

I did lose my bottom bolt on the second nozzle. I figured it came out since the plastic did. Maybe that was actually the cause on the second one. But I think @eastcoastjumper made some really good points about the xmetal trim arm. And the first one was aged plastic so could have been unluck on the first one and my own damn fault on the second one. But this next nozzle I will do some testing with and without the coupler on the pump to check for clearance

losing the bottom bolt will break the nozzle in a heartbeat, even protecs.

Yeah since I couldn't find that bottom bolt I will have to say second one has a for chance if user error. First one however was very odd. Coincidence?? Either way I have a new protec to put on it today and make sure bolts and trim arm are proper!

Update. Broke steering in 5 minutes lol. Time for a heavy duty cable. I knew the cheap thin one that came with it wasn't going to last. Of course I gave the good cable to my buddy rather than keep it as a spare

Really? I had a thick one in my Chan and was great. User error on the cable as well. I made an adjustment 30 seconds before the cable broke. Pushed the barrel out to the end trying to straighten my steering rather than making the adjust on the bars and keeping the strength of a cable.

Quick adjustment makes for a quick failure lol. Live and learn I guess. Up next my back up cable. Blue off a wave raider with the same 4" throw. Hopefully not extending the cable more than needed and adding some extra nuts over the thread like a buddy told me will strengthen thee cable and let me ride this bad boy.

Also. Bored reduction nozzle from 86-88mm and protected nozzle from 92-94 and the ski is so violent on the bottom. Can't wait to finally test. I think my idle 360s will finally happen now!!

Why are your nozzles breaking?

Because it's sun aged plastic from 15 years ago.

Buy a new one and make sure the clearances check out.

Make sure it has enough room by the x metal arm. ***The holes have slop so push/pull on it and really make sure it doesn't rub like it still could while under load of the thrust.

Steer left/right on the bars while keeping your other hand on the nozzle putting force against it. While doing that you'll see the slop and if it's actually shifting and rubbing.

The one picture you posted it broke right by the x metal arm. You might just have to Dremel the plastic nozzle slightly to give a hair more clearance
