sxi help

yep, i talked to my dad who is pretty good with engines, and he said i should do a flywheel, and a timing advance plate. He said milling the head shortens engine life/makes it run crappy.

I know i should prolly get a sj, so does anyone wana get me one for, somewhere between $2-3000? If you can find me a nice one (preferrably round nose) anywhere around pennsylvania, i would put the sxi up on ebay cuz things just keep braking on it, and i havent even ridden it 4 times yet. A superjet would probably fit me better cuz im guna ride the river a lot. I would like to tune the sxi and see where it stands and go from there whether to switch or not...

I dont see any real rush. But i can kind of tell from my ski already that bottom end is guna hard. Its def a race ski, not a flipping machine. I dont really see much point to dump my last penny into a ski and only get a wee bit out of it, when i could get a sj thats already got a head start. but like i said, no real rush. I got all winter

speaking of dumping pennies...

i went to change my handlebar, and found 7 screws we have to drill out cuz theyre not guna come out. so i went n found replacements. (these screws hold the handle bar in). now for these screws, i spent $30, thats almost $5 a screw :bs2: i know stuff isnt cheap, but im buying unimportant stuff for my ski, and its killin my cash

that superjet just keeps looking better n better.

Just an idea, but I'll have a roundnose hull for sale shortly and you could do like I did and find a roundnose hull then find a squarnose and swap everything over. The only thing youll need to get is an intermediate shaft and you'll have a working roundnose for a lot cheaper.

I'll probably ask $500 obo for the hull alone by it's self with footholds, reinforced with carbon and painted. I have an extra wamilton hood and xmetal pole but I'm selling everything separate unless I can get enough for the package.

Well goodluck with your sxi, I loved mine but like everyone else it never had the low end I was looking for.

I am surprised no one has mentioned this but...I would check with dave at impros about your impeller pitch. I know the proper impeller makes a world of a difference. I'm no impeller expert but I have a feeling that if you went with a 9/17 over your 8/16 you would notice a difference. But check with dave and see what he says. He can actually repitch your 8/16 so you wouldn't have to get a new impeller. Also, I heard the stock sxr impellers work good, may want to ask him about that too. Anyways, just my 2 cents.

more power = runs crappy?

i kinda of had a feeling i would need a new pitch. i might wait until we tune the pipe, and maybe some engine mods in the spring before i change the pitch though. how much would a repitch cost generally?

he said it makes it run rough. But i guess thats the price you pay to get ur ski where you want it. ill probably send the head and maybe flywheel to group K. and ill probably get an timing advance plate. My dad read an article somewhere about the advance plate and flywheel, he said something like it can porpus really badly when you pull the throttle, like the nose just shoots up? anyone head/know about this? i dont know if its true or not.

higher compression does not make a ski run crappy and an advance plate and flywheel does not cause porpoising. does your dad get his info from a guy named travis in oklahoma, by chance?

alrite, i guess il be investing in a milled head/timing advance. no i think he just read it in a thread somewhere, not from any real source. should i send my head to group K? How do you send/notify/pay them? would it matter if we milled the head before tuning the pipe?

i took off all my stickers.
