Rear sponsons mounted more forward

I have a trinity gen2 x2 hull... it's a -4 and the way it's designed I don't have any place to mount rear sponsons unless i mount them forward approx 16" forward of where they would normaly mount. Has anyone done or had to do this? if so does it work? going from regular sxr with tbm sponsons to this ski seems crazy, i have hardly any control at speeds and it slides out WAY too easy... I'd like a lil hook when I lay it over turning like my sxr....

I don't mean this in a rude manner at all but did u really think it was gonna ride like a Sxr , 2 key reasons one its probably waay lighter and two it's -4 . Those two things are kind of a big deal at least to my knowledge

I did not expect it to turn like my sxr...... what I want/need is it to turn even a little lol.... The carbon plate is grooved not flat... and id like to keep it for weight purposes. Im guessing nobody really knows the answer about sponson position.... :(

Look at the TBM with it double concave design it might actually help you turn. Most ride plates just help the Ski from porposing. The TBM helps with the handling..

Well to kind of answer ur question I wouldn't mount them way forward not really gonna help achieve what ur trying to get . Slap some front sponsons on her and drag some ribs . Jk if u think about it mounting them forward is pointless I would think you would want them as far back as possible to make ithem work effectively call trinity see there input

I tried, I emailed them about 2 months ago about it and never got a reply.... I know they are busy with the season, so i figured i'd see if anyone here had done it. i've seen the "x" wings on a few skis here, but I may just try making a set of sponsons and see how they perform... sometimes it's trial and error..
