That thing in the middle is called the Venturi.

The leak originates from the needle and seat. The cause is too low of a pop off, a bad needle or excessive vibration.

Excessive vibration should not be an issue unless you have some broken motor mounts.

A needle and seat is not good just because it is new. Aftermarket parts do not have the same quality as genuine mikuni parts. Or you could have not properly reinstalled good parts. You should always test your carbs with a pop off gauge prior to reassembly. This ensures your needle and seat is working correctly and your fuel pump is not leaking.

It is doubtful your pop off is too low, as leaking seems to not be an issue on these motors until the mid to low teens. However, pop off can be different than what the chart says due to faulty spring tensions or mixing up the sping colors. Another reason to test pop off.

Used only genuine mikuni parts thanks for the explanation! gonna check pop off then! Thought it was kinda strange everything new needle? seats, springs everything mikuni part...same carb same problem...gonna check it thanks

What is ypur target popoff? What seat and sprongs are you using?

This is my info from novi for my 46mm

Try,

125 or 130 main jets

130 or 135 pilot jets

2.3 / 95

return fuel restrictor at # 60 main jet

A 2.3 NS and 95g should give you 20psi.
A 2.0 NS with 80g spring should give you 21psi.

If you can not resolve your problem, then try out a 2.0/80. The smaller seat may help the needle seal better. The 2.0 can flow all the fuel you need, so there is no benefit to the larger seat.

Thats a great answer!! Can you tell me why novi want me to put a 2.3 in? If it can do the same with a 2.0 ?
