Blaster B1 701 61x starting issues

Hi guys

I have a 95 b1 with a 701 61x motor.

The other day while riding i came off the throttle to idle.
The motor cut out and i couldn't get it restarted, had to get towed in by the lifeguards.

I have checked the obvious:

Compression is 800kpa on both
There is fuel. Cleaned carb with compressed air
Replace plugs

The only 2 issues left to resolve are:
I found 2 bolts on top of my reeds.
The petals are chipped and have holes in them.
I realise i still need to replace them , but the motor still doesn't want to start up.

The other issue is that the spark might be a bit weak.
Small yellow spark not a fat blue spark.

I have yet to check the electrics in terms of resistance with a meter.

I do have msd caps with crimped connectors.

Anything else i can check?

i always unplug black white wires next to gas tank to rule out start stop switch they go bad from age exc. Im thinkig elec cause it just cut out let us know what it was good luck

yes if it starts your start and stop switch is the problem happens alot without black and white cant shut down. I run my idle were it turns off when you let off the gass i run a zip tie on mine in the surf no hassel with lanyards

701 industries just made something called quick start slides in lanyard spot get you out of trouble then plug in lanyard move it out of way kindof cool fyi

it will crank and crank it may spark for 1 second and thats it you can fix it just need to clean inside be carefull alot of small parts and springs also sometimes the stop button gets pressed down and its not popped up just cause plastic is up the button might be down i have had a few beers so bare with me

Good luck its awesome talking to someone from so far away. Blasters are the poop its all about a good ski some good bars keep the strain off the back and just having fun shred hard keep me updated on the problem curious what it is

Ok so tried again.
I disconnected the black and white wires.

Still no spark.

Then while installing the battery i broke the + wire terminal.

So i opened up the cdi box.

Its very clean inside.
No leaks
Gasket ok.

I checked the ohms on the ignition coil.
It would appear that it is low.

I get 0.8 pn the orange and black wires
Manual says the range should be 0.0078 - 0.108

I guess i need a new coil

I still get a small yellow spark

I checked the ignition coil with an electrician friend of mine now.

The primary Coil resistance is out of spec.
The secondary coil resistance has no resistance.

So i can safely assume that my coil is not working.

I have a theory:
I have some normal yamaha outboard coils.
From a yamaha 60/70hp.

I'm going to connect 2 of these coils: 1 for each cylinder.
If it runs, but badly, then I'll need new Reed petals and a new ignition coil.
Am i wrong or right?

Tried that.

Same yellow spark as before.
Still doesn't start.

I even removed the MSD crimps on the original coil and cut back the cable and recrimped.

Same yellow spark as before.
Still doesn't start.

I am very sad.

I think its my reeds
Ive ordered some from jetmaniac.
