Is it time to redo my hull?

On Saturday I'm pretty sure I almost sunk my ski.
I went after a yacht wake and turned out to be the biggest boat wake I went for till now haha I tried a 180 off of it but somehow ended up underwater with the ski on top of me. when I popped up the ski was upside down and taking in water. I pulled the lanyard but it came off my hands instead. The ski was pretty heavy to turn over, but when I did the ski was half underwater, but the rear end was under. The engine shut off and wouldn't start so I started swimming and dragging the ski to shore. By the time I got to the shore the bildge pump pumped all the water out from the engine bay. But the tray was full of water. I rode it for a bit when I got it started to make sure everything was ok and went home.

The main reason I'm asking if I should have my hull and tray redone because I'm pretty sure there isn't foam in there, or it took on water. Plus there are pole vent holes which are not very sealed which i am not using since I have a umi pole on my setup. Thinking about sealing them off. I would not want my ski to go down.
When I tilt the trailer up to let it drain I see water coming out of the rear of the ski where the turf ends in the back, and from the rear tow holes ha can't remember the name now.

So basically I would have to refoam, touchup the hull in the rear, seal off the pole vents, repaint and returf.
Does anyone have an estimate on how much this would cost to do?

Probably 2 sheets of turf $80 each. Addl one sheet of padding if you want padding $80 or you can do the small sheet $40 if its enough.

Foam is easy to estimate. Just measure the volume of the tray and do the math. I'm going to ball park a gallon at $50.

You need to use epoxy resin for all of your work. The amount will depend on the job. It you just cut the tray open then close it, probably a quart. If you do holds, patches, make filler from epoxy, you will need maybe 1/2-1 gallon. Epoxy is $60/gallon.

Glass is $5-10 per yard, again, you will have to do the math on the job.

Holds and anything else cost retail, so if you don't have holds or want to change the , now is the time and they cost the price of whatever you pick out.

Paint varies widely. Good paint and primer will run about $100-150 per gallon. If you do all the warm yourself, I would say about $200-400 in materials. If you take it to a body shop, I would guess that it would be closer to $1000.

You could get a graphics kit for $400 on ebay for a whole ski wrap custom graphics installed for $800-1000

You can check for water in the tray by drilled a hole in the back at the chine.

If you are going to have the tray open, consider installing an engine compartment drain or scupper, a trim tube and perhaps even a 3rd cooling / siphon tube.

My hull is a bob gen 2 so it already has adjustable footholds installed, I will just have to returf them.
There is a pre-cut turf kit that includes under-matting for the tray (don't know how thick the mat is but i'd want to go with a 1" mat). and a pre-cut kit for the footholds that totals up to $130 from theskiclinic.com.

I was thinking of having a friend that does cars paint it for me so it will have a smooth surface. I have a 6' printer with 3m car wrapping material which I am planning on wrapping the ski with. So that will lower the cost a bit for me designwise.

Thanks for the advice... There is a scupper but the previous owner blocked it off. Which I don't mind because I have a bildge pump. But I would want a working one with a versiplug fitted.
There is a trim hole drilled which i discovered last week. So i'm sure it was taking in water from the rear. I was going to block it off. But i'm not sure if i will need a trim in the surf.
I am currently running dual cooling

Someone else told me about pool noodles. But if i have to remove the turf to be able to shove them in the tray i might as well add the foam solution. If there was an easier way i would just seal off the trim hole and shove noodles in. But if im not mistaken there is no other way other than to open up the tray from where the turf goes

The two part foam does absorb water, so if you think you have a leaky bond line it's probably not a good option. My ski has no foam, two small versi plugs, and one 3/4" maxi plug, and one rule 500gph bilge. On plane my ski can empty the whole bilge extremely quick. The versi plugs have not leaked at all like scuppers do.

I mean to leave your tray as is and to cut up the foam noodle(s) and put them in your engine bay. :)

Thanks.. Could you show me a picture of the rear of your ski so I can see? also would you recommend your setup for the surf?

I will try and get a pic up later. It would work great in the surf. The regular versiplugs screw into an oem Yamaha drain plug assembly, and the 3/4" one slides into a piece of what u think is 1" pvc
