BR's with or without dump nosels

How many people use dump nosels for barrell rolls? How many dont and why?
Just curious if they help here and if it is only for better set up wakes or does it help in rotation as well?
Also, does anyone use them for stabs? I dont plan on doing backflips as I dont live near surf and cant see me pulling flatwater backflips at my level. So is there really a need for a dump nosel for me? Any info much appretiated.

Respectfully,
Brian

I have tried it in the past, and it most certainly does not help with rolls.
It forces the nose to high, and you can't get the tail up. You end up landing tail or butt first, and not getting around. Plus, it makes you look dumb, and your friends will mock you. :)

I do think it is a MUST for better set-up waves though. So, I would say if you can scrounge up the $100-$200, then get one. Most importantly though, go ride someone's ski that has trim.

But you dont use for rolls or stabs?
just the setup wake. One of those things if you have it cool, if not ahhh no big loss. I have an extra one I would sell, needs a cable everything else is there.

I think I have only ridden one or 2 w/ one on it and didnt even use them. I have the Raider setup sitting here so just need a cable and a lever, I just wasnt sure I would use it so havent installed.

i cant backflip or barrel roll (too fat, lazy, unmotivated, intoxicated, insert lame excuse here) and i only use it for pulling nose up to attempt bfs for now and nose up to get more air for straight up jumps when wave jumping- only other use is to have something your buddys dont. protec system does have quick turn nozzle which makes a difference otherwise when not in use its totally passive- got my system real cheap and didnt have any other previous experience with trim so decided to give it a shot- that said with my riding i probably would spend money elsewhere before trim- unle$$ your rolling in dough

HAHA, good one Powder, you gonna be in Daytona? BTW I already have the Raider set up minus the cable and lever.
Thanks Though.
I want to go but it looks like right now I'll be way out on the left coast in Washington that week. It is really hard for me to plan anything non-work related in the winter. I get bounced all over the country most the time on a 2 or 3 day notice. If you want a lever let me know I am pretty sure I have an extra just cover shipping and say $5 and it is yours or I'll even send it to Daytona with IHOP or Pancake.

Cool, I will take the lever for sure. I would prefer you ship it as I will have the motor out next week and if I put the dump nosel on I will do it then.

I was using a trim this season to start doing my rolls. I liked it b/c it would shoot the nose of the boat up. However, I found that when you shoot the nose up you lose your forward momentum so when you land the roll it is difficult to ride it out b/c the boat is going strainght up, then the landing soaks up the rest of momentum and you just kind of stop. I kind of did one at the Malone clinic, using just my trim and he thought it was cool. He said that bringing the nose up was a good sign and I was almost there. I think it looks cool as well b/c it forces you to really throw your body into it and is very exagerated. I was also doing them completly on flatwater.....no take off wake. I can see where a small wave would really help and in that situtation I would not use trim.
