Beefier bars are just better....they had 7/8 bar but it had a thinner wall. Yeah screw the expensive straight bars! These are bigger and better. Very easy to do. Took me maybe 30 minutes

Ummm there is a 7/8" diameter that I bought for $25 for a 8 foot section from Mcmaster carr and I think the wall is thicker than that you have. And you don't have to spend the extra dollars on buying 2 sets fo grips and throwing the left one away the cutting the flange off of the motorcross grips.

awesome, I go to a place called metal supermarket...They are really cool, they cut what I need which keeps the price for me way down. I like the thicker bar anyways, im used to grabbin the throttle on mx bikes anyways

Speedfreak,
You wouldn't happen to have a part # for that , would you ?
I'm thinking of cutting up a spare stock turn plate and giving straight bars a try.

He posted the part number. But you have to remember that it has no knurled ends on it so that the lock on grips must be modified slightley so that they fit.

I built mine a few years ago and love them. It is structural tubing so there is no way it will bend the wall thickness is .438 so it is super thick

I think harleys use 1" bars, but i am not positive. So Harley grips may work. ?
The fatter bars may give you arm pump?? I tried some thick neo gloves before and added thickness killed my forearms.

The MX grips are not a larger diameter on the outside. The throttle grips just have a larger inner diameter. So, I don't think you'll be having any problems with arm pump. They should feel the same as any other bar. Since you'll need two sets of MX grips, that will give you a spare set of 7/8" grips for another ski. You can't value like that! Oh wait, you just did....:sad2: nevermind.
