They are cramming 1100 and 1200cc triples in Superjets, Blasters and SXR's these days. That seadoo Powerplant isn't much of an improvement over stock IMO.

I talked to that guy he said he's friend built it and tuned it perfectly. He said all it really took was a bigger coupler on the motor to make it compatible with the seadoo motor. It still uses the yami pump and midshaft. He said it is quicker than his limited sj. If I had the money I would buy it just to have Bc where else have you found a Superjet like this

I know this and have ridden a few 1100 sxrs and 1100 gen2 x2s. however, that wasnt the point of this thread. I think it's kind of funny that someone would put a seadoo 717 motor in a superjet for no to little gain. I was wondering if anyone has ridden it or has information on this particular ski. It's unique and just wanted to start some conversation over it.

I would love to ride that ski^

Has anyone put a 951 in a superjet before? I'm sure it would be a recipe for disaster as far as water ingestion goes, but I bet it would be crazy fast.

I have seen a few with the 720's in them. I found a cheap Polaris couch that has a stock 90hp 701cc engine that would probably be a good fit too.

All three engines (717 seadoo, 701 Polaris, 701 Yami) all have about the same bore/stroke but were designed for different performance spec's. Rod length, port timing and induction type play a big part in how these three engines perform for a superjets needs. The Seadoo won't have that (without work) bottom end snap because its rotory valved as opposed to the Polaris's and Yamhas reed valve induction. The Polaris is a much sturdier platform but with the longer 136mm rod it won't be so snappy of the bottom but makes great power and will last. The yamaha works best for our intended riding styles here.
A 951 makes great power but its not a snappy motor either, plus with the carbs sitting how they do, a standup can be tricky. They ran them in racing applications but the triples proved to work better.

Paul Pachowski (sp) had a 2008 SJ with a nicely built 951 motor - carbs, ignition, pipe, etc. I rode it a few years ago, it was FAST and handled really good.

But, the best sj I've ever ridden was Brad Davis' 1100 kawi SJ in an 08 hull. That was about as perfect a play stand up as one could build. Much more fun than the SXR1100s.
