sxr pump issue

just rebuilt my sxr 800 pump this winter,change bearing and impellor shaft and prop,put a skat 5mm cut back,when i put the pump back im having trouble to put it back in place i have to tap in the back whit a piece of woods to get it in is place.is this normal?

Your hull may have "relaxed" a little while the pump was out. I've experienced this with both my SX and my STX - they use the same pumps as the SXR.

mine does that too. Did you grease the end of the driveshaft splines? I found that too much grease actually builds pressure when pressed into prop and pushes pump backward off the shaft.

you never experiance a pump issue whit the pump so tight?

yes i grease a lot

Try cleaning some of the grease off the splines, worked for me
