MSD enhancer or bored carbs?

Im wondering what I would benefit from more, the enhancer or bored carbs on my ski?

its got a 62t bored out to 760, milled head, mild case and cylinder porting, carbon tech reeds, blaster mod pipe, fp waterbox, skat swirl, 12/17, and r&d intake grate.

let me know what you guys think?!

I would get an enhancer or epic. Bumping up the rev limiter is a must and changing the ignition curve it will feel like you have a little more power on the low to mid range.

I always hear mixed things over an enhancer. Sure it has a little timing advance at lower rpms, but from what I understand, most people use it to get the extra rpms. You can mod your own cdi to get rid of the limiter or make it adjustable, for well under the price over an enhancer. It's the extra rpms that are the most useful, so if you're after much more than that, a programmable Epic HX3 has become the next popular option.

i can tell you seat of paints experience. ride a stock cdi then a msd enhancer with a pipe and compression. same mods of both. and if you don't come back smiling ill buy it from you.

A more realistic comparison would be a modded stock cdi vs msd enhancer.

Ok thanks guys. How much is the epic?

Any tuning changes needed with them? Or just a bolt on andgo?
Believe epic is 450$+ or so. You can get them preprogrammed for your needs so you don't have to mess with much, but someone else would have to chime in more on that.
An msd enhancer is a complete bolt on and go mod, no messing with anything at all.

i have one off those you can have for shipping. no stop function either.
6m6 or 61x? I've heard something about 6m6 ones doing that i think. Properly modded to completely bypass the rev limiter it shouldn't cause a problem. Adjustable is another story.
I have had zero problems with my protec modded 61x cdi with an adjustable rev limiter..Love it. Cost me 100$ too.I prefer having a rev limiter to set rather than completely bypass the limiter.
But if money isn't an issue and you want complete bolt on and go, no other messing with stuff, msd enhancer, since it offers a little extra than an adjustable stocker. But if you're after max performance..look towards programmable.

Agreed I put one on with no other changes. Felt a pretty big change in low end response. Also not bouncing off the limiter helped too.

If you're thinking about boring your carbs, were you planning on contacting an engine builder to clarify what would benefit you the most? Especially since you've got a custom setup.
IMO, contacting an engine builder always works awesome if you really want specific details to benefit your setup.. I like to call up zack at powerhouse performance. He's extremely helpful and always answers all of my questions and more about performance mods. Their # is 920-889-7125

mine is 61x, stick with the protect over mine. follow the amazon link at top of home page. msd enhancer isn't that high and i promise gains where you want them while keeping charging system and no fuss install in the e box

Yeah I trust my protec. I can imagine an msd enhancer being easier to work with compared to an hx3. Just don't advance your static timing too far with it. $ per $ a modded adjustable one is better, but if you already have some cash to dish out, go to the enhancer(unless you decide to step up into a very high performance setup with the hx3 and mess with timing curves, etc).
I believe an enhancer supposedly had hotter spark to make it easier to start especially when you're running higher comp..
