Finishing up my build...I'm torn..help me decide..

Well I'm finishing up my ski build on my square and am torn on what else to do. I currently have a X/X setup with a single 44, and a jetmaniac freestyle ported 735 and an ADA head W/ 35 cc domes. I want to do a little more to squeeze the most I can out of my current motor and have been thinking of either having my Limited FPP bored or adding a lightened flywheel. What do y'all think? I'm leaning towards having the pipe done since it can be moved to other motors, but still want whatever adds the most for the money spent...what would y'all do?

all depends what your after. flywheel wont give you anything more then less rotating mass for quicker revs. not sure on the pipe. what about some driveline mods? bored nozzle? how bout a good impeller? money is always well spent on a Hooker........ ;)

Send your carb off and have it bored out to 48mm/blackjacked or CPT'd etc. MSD or advent enhancer. If you haven't already, port match and polish your exhaust manifold.

What exactly is done when they blackjack a carb? Is this very costly? Im getting close to the end of my budget this year, and was mainly thinking about having my B pipe bored (Is port matching done during this or is port matching something different?) OR going with a ZERO lightened flywheel. Just wast sure which one was the most bang for the buck, as they are around the same price. Of course, if there is something else that can be money better spent id definitely like to hear about it?

definitely the flywheel then. less wear n tear on the motor due to less rotating mass and def lets the motor come into revs quicker. that small of a motor youll notice the flywheel more than a ported pipe

I read the opposite in the #0 thread. The flywheels mass is there so that it absorbs more vibration and having it lighter will wear the crank more. Makes sense to me

I've ran a 650 factory pipe unported on a 771 and a 701(both limited and mod chambers, I can't tell the difference). Also ran a factory pipe opened up to 51mm. I've opened up all of mine myself. It's not hard to remove material with a dremel. Use a gasket and a marker as a guide.

I can tell you this though: I didn't notice a difference.

-lightening the flywheel is worth it for the 60-100 bucks that it cost to have it lightened and shipped.

-an MSD enhancer is actually a noticeable mod. I've watched a riding buddy install one on the beach after riding with a 61X cdi then go back out with MSD. He was impressed for the money spent. It's also transferable to any larger motor setup.

-I don't run 35cc domes. Only 33cc and I still run WOT for a few minutes straight. That's more power that's easily attainable while running 93 octane fuel(pump gas). And it's plenty safe.

After that there isn't much more to do on a 61X motor that's noticeable other than major porting and boring. But you said keep it cheap cause you are out of funds so those options cost too much anyway.

My suggestion would be save the money you were going to spend on mods for gas and ride a bunch. Once you get sick of that motor and "have to" upgrade to more power; spend the money you saved by not doing mods, on a bigger motor.

Thanks Bruce! Reason I was trying to squeeze the most from this motor is I plan to upgrade to a AM hull next year. So this motor will most likely be with me for a few more seasons. I left it at 735 for that reason, so if anything happens I have another bore, and if all goes well I can bore it once more when transplanting it into an Am hull.

It sounds likes many people have good results with the MSD, and your right, that can be transplanted. Never thought of it that way. I definitely don't mind spending a little more for something like the enhancer if it's gonna be more worth it than the other mods. I just don't want to take too much for my funds for another hull.
