Last week i picked up a 650sx. Was running with a slug of gas down the carb but that was about it. The inside of the hull covered In brown oily dried salt water (boat has no drain bung is this normal?).
First job I pulled the motor out and cleaned the hull up a bit. Found Its got a westcoast pipe on it. Also found it was missing a hose clamp on water box so glad I didn't put it in the water, had a broken engine mount and snapped a bolt of between exhaust manifold and pipe.
Right now she is all back together and I had first test in the water but it didn't seem to be cooling like it does on the hose the pisser was hardly dribbling. I have blown air back through all hoses and checked for blockages and all seems good. I had the ski nosed in to the wharf while testing it so wondering if cavitation was stopping the pressure in the pump therefor no cooling water?
Btw cool forum I'm looking forward to learning heaps.
