While im hanging on the beach, i had a thought. is there a midshaft i can fit to the lx hull that will work? the motor and mid shaft have different couplers, so im not sure how im going to connect them. can i run the coupler from the 650 motor i removed? and if so, is it reverse thread to get it off? whats the best way? the 1100 coupler has to come off as well to replace a bearing.

and the more i think about it, the more i feel like trimming the foam under the seat and moving the waterbox and battery back there, possibly even the fuel tank.

im excited and daunted at the same time between this, the superjet build and the superjet motor build. thought i guess really the SJ hull isnt a big rush... so much to do in what seems like no time!

Well in more recent news, after looking further into the crank it appears it will need to be replaced. SO, with that said, this motor is on the back burner this winter, and will possibly get worked on in the spring. the hull is wrapped up out back. I really would like to get this motor in the hull and see it go, so im not giving up yet.

the 1100 setup is for sale if someone does want it, id like to get 550 for it plus s/h +pp fees. The pistons slid fine, but the scores show its never been rebuilt and had probably 100-150 hrs on it. I have full exhaust for it now as well. i was going to hone it, drop in new pistons and new crank. if it doesnt sell i might still do this, but if it sells ill just drop a nice 701 into the sitdown.

yes bad bearing, the last one next to the coupler. i haven't looked it over close, i was going to replace it as a whole. not sure the conditio of the other bearings, and i didnt want to chance it having new pistons and seals in there.

If it's the last bearing next to the coupler I bet it's a $50 fix. Just make sure the other bearings are good. As long as the bearing is on the end of the crank it can be replaced without rebuilding the whole thing. I'd call around to see how much it will cost you. You can also check out http://www.competitivecrankshafts.com/ they do awesome work but you will have to ship it pretty far. Just an idea. I still have hope for your build.
