HOOD HOOKS problem

Put some aftermarket hood hooks (can't remember brand) on a 99SJ. Have stock hood and the little metal things on it. Problem is, now the hood does not seat far enough forward for the latch to work. Anyone had this problem? Suggestions? Solutions? Thaks

How far is it off by? The blowsion hood hooks have longer holes so you can adjust them. You might just have to drill out the holes on the hood hooks a little to get the hood to seat more forward.

Yup. Oblong the hood hood holes. On my billet XMetal hood hooks (the ones that mount on the ski, not on the hood) I also had to round the rear corner to allow me to mount them back further.

Yes, it's the parts that mount onto my ski, not the hood that are giving problems. So just do like i thought, and chop up my aftermarket stuff!!?? Just wanted to make sure it wasn't something that i did. Been here before:biggthumpup:

I had the same problem with my xmetal hooks

Looks like a second generation may be in order Pat:biggrin:

How about a steering baseplate for your pole/turnplate so that people don't have to buy a UMI steering system as well (have I mentioned that before)?

Mind as well include the bar mounts and hardware also........

GOT IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Elongated the holes and i think it's gonna work. Not the best fit in the world, but that's how it works..at least it's MODIFIED :arms:
