Super Jet slight hesitation right past idle

Hi I'm experiencing a slight hesitation just past idle. I can clean it up with the low speed jet but my idle goes to :):):):). My pop off is 20 psi, and from what I understand only comes into play with off idle hit, right? my low speed jet is a 125 and from what I understand comes into play around 1/4 up to 3/4 throttle, right?
my under standing is I can lower my pop off or increase my low speed jet, right? I don't really know which one to do or should I try both? was thinking of running 125 lsj with 18 psi or 125.5 with same psi (20) am I in the right ball park? what would u do?

you have the right idea, but a 125.5 doesn't exist. you can get a 127.5, but honestly if you're going to make a change you might as well go up to 130, thats what I usually do because sometimes you wont even notice a change when you go up in such small increments. also, make one change at a time, not both. lowering your popoff and increasing your lsj would probably be a big change.

That very much depends on the whole setup and the carburetors used. I personally go in single steps unless the condition I am starting from is obviously very bad.
In stock dual 38 SBN's, you can go from 130's to 140's and notice little difference.
Do the same thing in a dual setup of big bore carbs, and you might go from a running motor to something that barely blubbers.

In this situation, I'd try bending the popoff pivot arm a little or cut a loop or two off the popoff spring. That should very lightly lower popoff pressure. You can also get in-between sizes for the seats. Standard is 1.5, 2.0, 2.5. You can get 1.3 and 1.8, giving a bit more wiggle room.
Alternatively, raise your idle speed - this may also take care of it.

it's a single 44 that has been tapered & bored. if I raise my idle the the hesitation moves to off idle hit. doesn't make any scene to me. at 1st I thought it was a bog to much fuel so I leaned out my adjuster screw. The ski just died when I grabbed the throttle. I'm just torn on lowering the pop off or increase lsj. The pop off I have everything tons of n&s and springs to get any combo I need but when it comes to jets I have no idea what to go too and would have to order them. unless someone wants to mail me some on the cheap!?! so I can mess around!

Yea, if you already have springs and N/S but not jets in that range, adjust the popoff.

BTW, feel free to experiment. It sounds to me like you have the right instinct but your hesitant on pulling your carb off. Just do it. Do it several times. Get used to pulling the carb constantly, thats what it takes to dial it in right.

I have taken it off plenty, just lazy lol. I've been riding it the way it is, lol it's just such a fun ski to ride I don't wanna take the time to stop riding!!! I know once I do it ill be like dumb ass y didn't undo this along time ago
