300/440/550 Need help adjusting carb on '85 JS550, please help.

See attached movie:

Picked up this beast on craigslist, lol. 1985 JS550

Here's a YouTube of it from last night: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCFZpz5SBeg

I have to crimp the fuel line that shoots gas into the carb down 50% with vice grips or else the carb will flood. What screw should I adjust and how many turns? I appreciate any help for I am a noob.

Compression test shows good pressure in cylinders! So no leaks!

**Another issue:

The engine gets HOT real fast! To the point where it will REV up slowly on its own. Any suggestions on this? Thank you viewers.

I think you want to start at 1 full turn out on the high and 3/4 turn out on the low. Go up 1/8th turn on each until you get where you want it.

I'm no professional, but it looks like you're leaking exhaust from your pipe. You probably need to connect a cooling line there, unless you have a tunable pipe that is missing a screw or something. I know someone with more experience can give you a definitive answer, but that could be causing your heating woes.

Right, now I see. You don't have a flush kit installed, you just unplugged the cooling line from your exhaust head pipe and ran it to a garden hose.

Yeah, ok, I'm talking about about where the exhaust is spitting out of your head pipe. I've annotated a screenshot for you below.

Here is a pic I took today showing my flush kit connection, and the water hose that you need to have connected to your pipe. Mine is a stock ski, but I think you can still see where everything should go. My understanding is that my flush kit was installed by the dealership.
