300/440/550 Kawasaki 550 Advice

Hey Guys looking for a Kawasaki 550sx or js really does not matter. I am new to the stand up jetski scene but am really enthusiastic to start. What should I get is really what im after. What year? What model? How much should I spend? What are the average prices? Are parts expensive? Should i get a 550? I really just asking for the answers to some of these questions. Oh Yeah Where is good reasonable place to look for a stand up jetski? Craigslist? Ebay ? Anywhere else?

Please let me know if anyone could help answering some of these questions!

How much you spend is all up to you and what parts are on the ski. If you bumped your budget to 1500 you could get a nice built square nose. But to stay in your budget you can get a 550 for 800-1000 that has a few basics mods such as pipe prop and head.

This^ But I would up the budget and get a SquareNose with a 701 in it.

I may be able to bump my budget but where would I be able to buy one.? Do I just keep looking on craigslist or are there other places?

In the midwest 1500 gets you a stockish squarenose superjet., maybe with some handling mods. The prices have gone up on superjets recently but It's worth saving

Look here and pwctoday.com as well as craigslist for whole skis for sale.

Here at the X the go to boat for starting out to aftermarket hull monster is the superjet platform. 701cc motor is ideal. They are the best skis to start with for freeride. These are called 61x. 650 superjet is good to start too. It is the same platform to build on and a 701 can bolt up to the motor mounts. They go quick on craigslist but having the money handy after saving and checking every day will get you one before the season ends.

The superjet is your best bet for a solid investment. Good luck searching buddy it's well worth it and this is a very very fun hobby.
