FX-1 Bad switch not sure which one

So I figured out that either the stop switch is bad or the lanyard switch is bad on my ski. I was getting intermittent spark and was going through everything. I get spark when I unplug the stop switch. Is there a way to figure out which switch is bad. I have extra switches that I can swap in.

I just went thorugh a season and a half of this, most of last season I rode with my Stop switch disconnected(the black connector in the back right corner of your engine bay). I also found that I had issues with starting that were very intermitent. Here is what i would check.

Test at the quick connect to make sure you are getting continuity in your switch. if its not consistent then pull apart the switch and rub some scotch brite on the connections. the switches are easy to pull apart.

If everything is testing Clean then double check your ground wire. Mine ended up shearing off and although I dont blam all the problems I had on this I do think that as it broke down it would have caused for a weaker spark etc.

The kicker for me(which I only found out after completely rewiring my switch) was that the fuse coming off the stock electrical box had broke in a way that it worked 90% of the time. This fuse was an old style which I should have taken a picture of as I found it somewhat unbelievable.

An Ohms test will likely be the best for you though.

What does that fuse do? Will the ski not start at all if the fuse is bad?

Clean off the little brass pieces up inside the start stop switch. I had the same problem and cleaned them with a wire brush cause they were black. Put it all back together and it has worked ever since. :) Hope this works for you too!!

Haha that's funny because before I check back on this I decided I would take apart all of the switches and the kill switch was just as you described. I cleaned them up with some fine grade steel wool and then caked the switch with dielectric so I don't have this problem again.

I hope people see this and it ends up being their problem. I hate to waste money especially $100 on a start stop switch when you can fix it for free.
