Other What causes cylinder sleeves to crack?

As some of you know the jet ski Gods hate me and have cursed me with running into every possible issue. The latest issue being a small hairline crack in the cylinder liner that I found after taking the cylinder off to remove broken bolts... So before I replace it with a new one and have it happen again I would like to try and figure out/fix what caused it in the first place.

Ported 61x 701, 62T Piston rods, 6m6 crank, Pro-Tec head with 155psi compression. Coffman Rocket exhaust and SBN 46mm Carb. Run 91 Octane.

drill a small hole at the end of the crack and that will stop it from getting bigger. i have ran and beat the crap out of cylinders that were cracked much worse than that. dont replace it and stop looking for problems, you will always find them with this jetski junk. just ride it like a rental and have as much fun as you can. excessive piston clearance may cause that or maybe if somebody put a 701 cylinder on 760 cases and the bottom of the sleeve doesnt get supported by the larger cases.

I will try drilling the small hole. My goal is to be able to ride them but they keep breaking down on me. :raincloud:
