I'm trying to put on my new hooker prop into my RN SJ. When I pulled it apart I found that the previous owner out a solas concord 13/17 on it and I'm trying to pull it off but can't find an Allen key that fits the impeller cap. Does anyone know what size key to use or if it had some kind of key? Really frustrated.

I've tried all of my metric and standard. Now there is the chance that the last owner stripped them putting them in too tight but I have TONS of tools so I thought this should never be an issue. FML.

If neither fit, then it's stripped. I'd take an Allen that's slightly too big, grind it down a little, and hammer it into the screw. Get it out that way and replace.

PS: you know that there are half mm metric sizes, right? I.e., 2.5, 3.5

I believe this is a 1/16. I expected it to be standard but 1.5 was too small and 2 was too big.
and yeah. Apparently when you walk into a hardware store with an entire pump assembly, they become a little puzzled

Great. Now my driveshaft seems to be too thick at the end to slide the old impeller cap off. And I don't have a solas tool. Looks like I'm not making if to the lake today

Any SJ driveshaft sort of thickens towards the front. Normal.
I'd call Solas or Skat and ask them how to get it off.

Figured it out. Turns out you have to heat it up and smack it with a rubber mallet and it'll slide off with a couple hits. I was initially not wanting to be so abusive but I guess you have to be
