Did the conversion, running with a straight 15 Skat. Spins (cavitates) down low, pulls strong in the middle, hits the rev limiter on top. I am thinking about a 16.5 or a 13/18, what are you running? The engine is a stock 61x with a b-pipe and a modded stock waterbox.

I have a hooker 11/16 in mine with an r&d pump stuffer. 61x mod bpipe.. A stock sxr impeller is also and excellent choice. Both of these will need a little machining to work in a 650 pump.
 
What he said........Also, lmake sure you have a good silicone seal between pump and hull or you will be chasing cavitation problems. I use permatex clear exclusively for sealing.

Sounds like such an easy conversion. Does it take away from any of the flickability of the stock fx1. I would hate to lose the excitement of riding a fx1 and make it handle like a superjet

Never rode this ski in stock form, but I can't imagine it taking much away from the flickability, this ski is so fun to ride! When the first new carbon FX-1's come out, I am considering putting my Q8 up for sale.
