Super Jet Steering in a bind after trim install

Hey guys got my raider trim all put together last night and after I added the steering cable extension it put the cable in a major bind and would only let the nozzle throw 60% of what it could throw without the cable attached. I moved the ball on the steering nozzle to the bottom but it still puts the joint where the socket and ball connect in a bind. Anyone had this problem and if so what did you do to fix it?

I compared the steering cable to my squarenose and it seems like their is much more "play" in the cable when you try and move it up and down where it comes through the hull.

does your cable extension have a swivel knuckle with a bolt going through it to adjust height ?

It does not, I am using the stock swivel knuckle. I am trying to visualize what you are talking about, do you have a photo or part number on where to order it? I searched through all the raider trim conversion threads but everyone seems to just get away with just the extension and stock ball and knuckle.

The more I think of it maybe we are talking about the same thing. So I have the stock steering cable that goes to a threaded extension then goes to a bolt that threads into the extension then into the knuckle for more reach to the nozzle. Is that what your referring to?

I use an 08+ steering swivel(expensive as f***) for the steering and a pre 08 steering swivel on the trim hook up. What nozzle are you using? A lot of trimming is involved with trim set ups

I am using pre 08 steering swivel and I made a bracket to grab and the pull the cable so I am not using a steering swivel on the trim hook up. I am running the raider nozzle.

its kind of hard to explain... but as that arm rotates for the trim ring, it will be at different heights along the way from resting to full throw. so you kinda want something that will swivel, rather than a stationary bracket. granted im not looking at your get up, but i'd drill a hole and put a steering swivel on it. just my .02 cents

I spent a good hour on McMaster this morning and found an extension and also found a ball joint like the 08 up superjet uses got it all for 25 buck
