Super Jet Superjet pump install

Hey guys I removed my pump so I could sharpen the impeller blades and plumb it for dual cooling. Now when I try to reinstall it the splines line up in the midshaft, but i still have about an inch to go before the pump bolts line up. Am I doing something wrong here? It was tight when I removed it. I am thinking the nubs on the wear ring are preventing it from lining up in the midshaft correctly.

rotate the splines a little and try again, sometimes worn splines need to go back in the same place...

Alright I'll go try that. I had to really yank on it to get it out if that matters.

Just keep shoving it in and out while spinning it a little every time. It'll eventually go in

I had to have someone hold the midshaft while I installed mine. Kawi's drive line is so much simpler. They had it right there.
