how to fix a wavy tray?

Build up a mud-like mixture of body filler and level it out with a drywall blade. Put some more glass on top of it. :beerchug: Honestly, I'd drill a large hole to check the foam. It might just be dry and seperated from the tray. Squirt some more foam in and reinforce your tray with some decent mat and go an inch or two up the sides. I can't imagine you can feel that much warpage while you are riding.

The in tray on the square I built last winter was just like your mentioning. I had to cut out the whole area, make another flat piece out of Biaxial and epoxied and glassed in the new piece. I foamed underneath for strength and it worked like a champ. There is now way to flatten or straighten out the exhisting piece or SMC.

the ski was recently re-foamed. I'm sure the old foam is still under the tray.

doesn't the problem come from the ride plate inserts leaking?

Wavy tray........WAVY TRAY??!??!?!?

Why dont you worry about why motor mounts keep on falling out of your ski. Then worry about the flatness of your tray. Now go and suck on some handlebars.

BTW- my tray aint flat either. I am so worried it keeps me up at night.

ok, the least painfull option is body filler and a new layer of glass. Mark wins.
That part was a joke. :banghead:
Drill a finger-sized hole, check the foam, it'll prolly be dry, squirt/pour some more in there to fill any air gaps, glass the whole tray and a little up the sides. That 25mm HT padding will cover up the bulge.

Use teflon paste on your pump bolts. I've had leaks there too.

Don't leave it if it's an air pocket. You don't need a 150-220lb rider bouncing up and down on an unsupported sheet of quarter inch fiberglass.

Don't you sluts ever ride? What's with all the skis going down voluntarily? :dunno:

I'm not taking it down now. just a thought since I'll need turf soon. I may just leave it.
