FX-1 UK Fx1 Surf Ski:)

Hi, I recently picked up a fx1 hull with the intentions of building it up over this coming winter. The hull has had some abuse from flipping and rolling so it needs a lot of tlc. I plan on putting the wet jet motor that i currently have in my X2 into it. (if you know of anyone who wants a kawi to yamaha rhass conversion kit, send them my way!)

The hull mods so far...

Tubbies
Lowered 'one off' pole and bracket
Carbon Kevlar reinforcing (will redo this as the pipe has been rubbing)
Footholds
144mm Pump conversion (with widened intake area and sj scoop grate)
Ride Plate
Scupper (not sure if I'm going to use this)


in one of the photos you can see a crack in the hood seal area where someone has drilled holes to attach fuel lined with cable ties. i can do basic fibreglass work myself , however i would like to get your input into how to aproch and fix the crack.

i will update you all as i progress through the build!

X2 on the pole bracket , I thought I had seen them all

the hood rail crack is a common issue on FX-1s, the only way we could ever make a durable fix was to epoxy a 1/2 in diameter fiberglass rod under the lip, there is a channel that it fits into perfectly, after that there bullet proof

The pole and bracket were originally made by air time products here in the uk as this was teir project ski. Thanks for the reply on how to fix the crack, I will have to look into that rod.
