Blaster Mid shaft issues

Does anyone know how hot or warm a midshaft gets. On a high 7300+rpm race boat application. I just rebuilt my pump and midshaft, alignment is all good. But midshaft is getting hot to the touch. Hot enough you can touch but not hold your hand on for ten seconds. The splines are well lube and the coupling is warm but not hot.
Any ideas??

Midshafts do get hot, I have noticed this over the years...I also discovered that the rubber seals riding on the midshaft create heat.I cut the first seal off a double lip seal (used as the first and last seal in blasters) and the shaft immediately ran cooler but still very warm...prior to cutting off one rubber seal the shaft ran very hot.

there was a guy talking about running oil in the mid shaft rather than grease (dont recall who), i wonder if this would help with the temp. he was saying it makes it much easier to spin so surly it would help with heat. mine never get warm but never to the point where i couldnt hold my hand on it.

Yes, I just wasn't sure how hot..... I am spinning some high RPM compared to a freeride ski. I will keep an eye on it to see if it gets any hotter, I only ran it for a couple of minutes as I am still tuning, I think I may cut the first seal as well.
Thanks

the superjet front seal have a single lip seal....blaster diagrams/part # show double lip in front which run hotter from my experience...don't cut your single lip seal or the bearing will be less protected.
