It's not clear why they rousted you. I wish there was no music in the edit so I could hear the fuzz!
Anyway, I didn't see a pen or paper come out... so you guys must just be badass troublemakers worthy of rousting! lol.

we were riding near some paddle boarders at the mouth at the harbor at first cause my ski was running like a giant pile! then they tried flaggin us down on shore but i didn't see it the guy i was with told me he saw it and we needed to go lay low somewhere so we ran out to where we normally ride but they still came and got us in the boat. We played stupid and said we were lake riders even though we are already on record. They gave us a huge boring lecture played dumb asked questions we already new and the let us go.

We normally ride in front of a power plant down about half a mile more and they won't bother us there unless the life guard is on the beach, but they hinted that that is out of the jurisdiction so we should just ride down there and they won't bother us unless it gets called in or we go on the beach.

Rules are can't be on the beach, with in 200 feet of the beach, it's 5 mph with in 200 feet of any surfer or person yada yada yada hahah. I dubed over what he said cause it was all the same old lecture and him yelling at us, plus the song was about gettin caught by the cops so found it appropriate. Haha

I was wondering what the deal was riding in that area.... The company I work for has a branch in Camarillo. I can make an excuse to go there several times a year. I have thought about finding an old SN to keep out there for "business" trips.

Those guys just like to hear themselves talk... got a lot of the same lectures this weekend from a park ranger.

It's everywhere in CA lately. The bay has some insane laws about riding near certain islands, other people in the water and being so far away, within a certain distance to another vessel, jumping wakes etc. The closed shoreline along the coast is retarded too, thank the hippies.lol

Odd. I've sat and chatted with FWC officers here. Many of the same rules apply.....at "guarded swimming beaches".
This does not include the inlet where we ride. But we always give surfers and paddle boarders plenty of space.
I would not do it, but it would be legal for me to ride right thru the middle of the line-up.

Paddle boarders have come out into our area (as we were riding) and we gave no berth. They understood that we were there first and mixed in the best that they could, but that is rare.

It's generally too long of a paddle for too short of a ride for most surfers.

BTW: I specifically asked the officer about how close we can be to these other folks enjoying the waves.

The fact remains: you are evil. Worthy of rousting. And you get in the way of people trying thier best to be part of the latest fad in the water..(paddle boarding). lol.

:soapbox:I'm just a part timer at best in the surf .... What gets me is surfers ,boarders, kayakers ,Kiters etc. have the ENTIRE UNITED STATES COASTLINE ! what do motor sports tax payers get ? The same goes for trail riders /atvs /horses no different for our land use . We really should organize in to one group .... and demand that we be allowed to us OUR land and water. Land and water restrictions really get under my skin .

I'm with ya brutha!
Equal protection under the law and all that crap!

If the players of all of the different water sports had control of it, rest assured, it would be worked out.

You guys kinda had that coming, you were right by the Harbor mouth. Couldn't hear the conversation, but that cop actually seemed fairly cool. Out of sight, out of mind is the rule. Our sport will never be legal or accepted. This is actually a good thing because it will also never be over crowded like surfing. I'm not preaching, everywhere I ride is illegal also, just saying the best way to keep things as they are is to to lay low and not bring any attention to our sport. Currently the cops turn a blind eye to us because we a few and not worth there time, so whatever you do, don't give them a reason to make it worth there while to start inforcing the no riding rules. Glad you guys got away with just a warning.

If your breaking the law, and get caught, you have it coming. Playing stupid isn't always gonna work, hence why ZB, JB, SH all got there ski's impounded. Ignorance is no excuse for the law, ESPECIALLY when you know your in the wrong. With CA's debt, they're looking for anything to write tickets, be smarter then that. Just my opinion

All I'm saying is that we should have some areas other than a 500 foot zone in Daytona and a few thousand feet in Pismo that it is understood that we can ride and beach water craft . Set up areas like ORV areas which incidentally are also are under continual fire . Much of our PUBLIC land is constantly coming under attack , Allowing ZERO access other than foot traffic for the simple reason THEY don't want anyone in there. Seriously , mtb riders ,horse folks, orv trail riders , hunters etc. need to get organized and fight for more access . In the case of skis ..... just some access .

Funny , the hippy crowd was the Generation that wanted the man off their back..... freedom do as they pleased without interference from the MAN . Oddly enough and it's THEY who have imposed more rules and regulations on a free people than any other previous generation. In the United Bates of America things would be different .
