I don't want to mount it to a board..

Do you ride surf at all? My total loss plate doesn't get wet at all in my gen3 because the dash protrudes into the engine bay so far

On the other hand, the Flame does have better and easier programmability and it's sealed.

That is true, I was more talking about price. There both $1200, but with the msd your also getting a few more things

There are a few guys who have sealed their MSD systems in everything from custom containers to simple Pelican or Plano waterproof cases. The problem is always how to seal up the wires coming out of the case and do you want to put just the brain or everything inside.

Technically...the MSD is just as sealed as the Flame. Your ebox seals are just as likely to fail as the potting on the MSD brains. General maintenance and original installation make all of the difference.

Yea, trying to do the original install right the first time, hence wanting to know the best case to use...
Sealing the wires.. hmm.. yet another question... LOL

Rrp box which is made for just that, sealing the tl setup. But it's pricey

So $1200 for the total loss plus $600 for the rrp box equals $1200 for labour?

Read the info about it...

you still need a flywheel, pick ups, and pick up plate!

I know jetski parts isn't a massive money making business but at some point I think these guys need to step back and rethink about their pricing plans. Sell 1 vs sell 20-30. Between this and the flowguard, maybe we should create a thread about which jetski part is the biggest ripoff...might last a full day before it's locked.
