Brand new S/S switch that l bought last year.Bought it from a local independent shop.lt was for a couch with the short wires.l sent it to JSS to have new wires run for my stand up.

The problem is (and getting worse) when you hit the start button nothing happens. So l push it harder several times and then pull and clip the lanyard several times next.Still nothing.....Hit the start button again and she starts.l opened up the switch to see if anything looked obvious, nope. So before l take more of it apart, thought l would post up.

Any ideas?

I had issues with the main fuse not making a proper connection for almost all of last season. It was intermittent and drove me nuts. Finally got it whooped in daytona. Had to bang on the dashboard to make the start button work lol.

Stupid 5 cent fuse caused my problem. The other could be the connection of the white plug on the start/stop near the box. I have noticed the switches don't really go bad too often. It's usually a connection somewhere.

Have to agree with you on that

Make certain both halves of the housing are coming completely together. Look at kill switch "plunger", if it is not extended enough the start button will not work. Next time it does not start, hold the start button in and pull up on the plunger to see if it starts.

that could be your issue right there, you got a spare to swap out?

I'd disconnect the switch outside the ebox and short the start pins on the ebox side connector. WAY less troublesome than tearing out the relay

l have got it narrowed down now to the ebox.Took apart the s/s switch, checked all the wires from the switch down the pole and in the engine bay.....no luck.Spent all last week going by the ski and bumping the start button.Every time she bumped over.Went to go ride sunday and the ski started several times on the trailer.l get to hornedogg's house and nothing! Pissed me off so bad,l went old skool, hit the dash with my fist and the dam thing started when l hit the start button!!! Granted,it was not very scientific.Rode the ski all afternoon and anytime she would not start,l just hit the dash and brap she starts.

But no,l don't plan on doing it this way the whole summer, but l think it is more bad connection than anything else.l'll pull the box this week and examine everything to determine where the problem is coming from.

Remove the main fuse and clean both sides where the fuse sits. Put in a new fuse or clean the old one. This was the exact problem I had with mine. Intermittent just enough to drive you nuts.
